Disappointing Mauritius !!!!!!

Went to ‘the’ match today : Mauritius v/s SudanMy Conclusions:

  • bad tactics and team formation as usual (starting team not good)
  • Disappointing match by the Mauritians even if they did better in 2nd half
  • no3 dnt even know his name was so slack
  • majority of the players dont use their intelligence to play
  • lack of agressiveness, no real determination to kill the game
  • dont master basic passing and control of the ball
  • too many long passes
  • n the list goes on and on, year -in year out

Mauritius wont ever be good enough until we professionalize our sports sector, les ‘privilegiés’ bizin lev paké alé! and bring in competent people…”bonne structure de formation” for our youngsters…Then we can talk of competition.

“kot nou ban expatriés…?” in the likes of BAx, Periatambee I heard in the stadium? But like some1 said couma zot le ban joueur vini…kan p paye zot Rs 1 000 ek 1 dipain apres :-D

So much frustration among Mauritian supporters today …but 1 thing that many persons dont understand is that : how can we get good /quality football, how can “we deliver the goods” when there is no effective structure put in place to assure that we get some good players with a minimum of inte

lligence! So that they can use their brains when playing n not just do anything with a ball when u r a pitch!!

Second goal of Sudan: Better not to comment on goalkepeer’s responsibility in that! …pfouff was like a cold shower for the whole crowd n we evryone was glued to their seats!!

Repeat of Sunrise-Zamalek!

Well a bunch of “Sudan supporters”(ban ti lesprit ki associé foot ek zot religion!! ) definitely came to create problems in the stadium… Of course they got the right to support any team they want but do it peacefully- dans un esprit sportif ! Am Muslim too…n many other Muslims came with their famous “mawfa” (tambour) BUT to support our national team of course..We r proud to be mauritians even if that is only for 90 minutes..

But their presence was mere provocation… coca-cola cups were being used as weapons between the 2 fighting teams..

At least they diverted us from the boring match n we assisted to some funny scenes where some of the Sudan supporters were trying to flee the stadium n the police running after them…n the linesman targeted as usual for every offside against Mauritius.. “1 coup bouteille ” in the Mauritian style :D which is not good though!!

Well, let me take all this in a positive way : I enjoyed myself–je me suis defoulé..bien criyé avec mes cousins lor stade… gt tro stressé n its good for me!

  1. I actually thought we played quite well. We dominated possession for sure and controlled the game up till the second half of the second half! Indeed, fatigue was clearly on our side.

I don’t think the Mauritian team deserved to lose but as can happen in football – just like the Liverpool v/s ManU game – the best team lost on the day.

  2. We played better in Seond half but thats not the kind of football that will make us win matches.

The determination was not there ! and also some slack playing n no intelligent play…our finish was not good.. miscalculated pass or the striker didnt know if had to shoot or pass…which eventually made us lose control of the ball so often.

But, on the positive side many players still young..maybe in some 2-3 yrs we can hope of winning against African teams.

well, local football is sadly not worth commenting for the time being..
and this thing you say about mauritians linking everything to their religion or ethnic group is true not only in football. we live in a sick society..

  5. So right! “Sick society”

Am more afraid when i look at youngsters attitudes nowadays… so much racism, frustration, violence- there is so much ill-factor in the country!
